Description

Golding’s Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse with an addition dating to the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a roof of glazed black pantiles. The front facade is symmetrical, featuring pilaster strips defining the quoins, and contains three windows. These are later 19th-century windows with mullion and transom casements, featuring geometric glazing bars arranged in elongated hexagon patterns, characteristic of the local estate style. The windows are topped with flat brick arches that include raised keys. A raised brick surround with a corbel cornice frames the doorway, which is accessed by a flight of four steps with simple wrought iron railings on either side. The door itself is six-panelled with two glazed upper panels. A brick eaves corbel cornice runs along the top of the front range. The side elevations and the rear wing have windows matching the style of those on the front.
