Description
The Old Rectory is a house that was once used as a rectory, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a wooden mutule eaves cornice, with a roof made of glazed black pantiles. The building has two storeys and presents a symmetrical entrance front with four inset sash windows that have glazing bars, all set under flat brick arches with stuccoed reveals. The doorway consists of a six-panel raised and fielded door, where the upper two panels are glazed. It is flanked by convex reeded pilasters topped with acanthus capitals, and features an entablature with guttae and a cornice. The left-hand return front has three bays, with the central bay set forward and topped with a pedimented cornice, and the windows match those on the entrance front. The building was first used as a rectory in 1846.
