Description
Manor House is a house dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, which was significantly enlarged and altered in 1906, having originally been a farmhouse. The building features three intersecting wings arranged at right angles, creating a U-shaped plan. It has a timber-framed and plastered structure with a colourwashed brick facade on the south side and a plaintiled roof. The house is two storeys tall with an attic.
The symmetrical facade on the south has flanking gables and a four-window arrangement of early 20th-century three-light casements with leaded glass and flat brick arches. There is one central hipped dormer above the main entrance, which features a boarded door and a wide lean-to porch supported by timber columns with carved fascia boards. On the left gable, there are iron letters 'C' and 'M'. The east wing includes some 18th-century casement windows and a notable plank entrance door. The west wing, added in 1906, showcases applied half-timbering on the first floor and has two projecting first-floor windows with dormers above. Inside, the entrance hall contains an early 20th-century staircase with slatted balusters and some original panelling. The house stands on the site of the original manor house.
