Description

Nos 7 and 8 on London Road are 18th century buildings, with a date marked on the roof timber of 1740. They are two storeys tall, timber framed, and plastered, featuring an ogee bracket cornice and a steep roof covered with plain tiles. The buildings have three sash windows in flush frames, which now only have vertical glazing bars. No 7 has a five-panel door with the upper panel glazed in squares, while No 8 has a four-panel door and two sash windows at the ground floor that match those on the first floor. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 1 and 2, Nos 4 to 10, and Nos 25 to 28, as well as forming a group with No 38 and the White Lion on Thoroughfare.
