Description
The White Swan is a 17th-century building that has undergone alterations. It features a timber-framed structure with a red brick front, standing two stories high with an attic. The east side has an end gable window and there are four mullion transom casement windows. The roof is covered with machine-made pantiles, and there is a projecting brown brick chimney at the east end. A 19th-century carved wood porch is present, along with channelled cement lintels above the windows. Inside, the building has hewn chamfered beams and a crossbeam. The White Swan is part of a group that includes Nos 1 and 2, Nos 4 to 10, and Nos 25 to 28, as well as forming a group with No 38 and the White Lion on Thoroughfare.
