Description
The Lowlands is a building located on Flixton Road, dating from the 18th century, with an early 17th century wing at the rear. The main block is three stories high, constructed of brick that has been limewashed, and features a wood ogee bracket cornice. It has a hipped roof covered with pantiles. The façade includes three sash windows on the first and second floors, which have glazing bars and exposed frames, set back in recesses designed to accommodate louvred shutters, with flat arches above them. The entrance boasts a six-panelled door topped by an arched radial-bar fanlight, with panelled reveals, and is flanked by stone three-quarter Doric columns and a dentil open pediment. The early 17th century wing is one story with an attic, timber framed, plastered, and has casement windows under a tiled roof.
