Description

Carlton Cottage is a house dating to the late 16th century, with evidence of earlier building work at the right-hand end. It is timber-framed with plaster infill and has a thatched roof. The house is two storeys high and originally comprised three rooms. The front facade features 18th-century casement windows with square leaded panes, and a boarded entrance door now set within a modern timber porch. An internal stack is present. The interior has been largely modernised, but retains some original exposed timbering on the first floor, which reveals the incorporation of an earlier timber frame at the right-hand end.
