Description

Kelsale Mill is a tower windmill built in 1856 by John Whitmore, a millwright from Wickham Market. The structure is made of brick and has six floors above the ground floor, with the lower two floors tarred and the upper floors whitewashed. Each quarter features small pane cast iron casement windows with segmental arches. The cap, sails, and internal machinery are missing, and the tower has a flat roof with a guard rail and a tall flagpole. Standing at 16.8 meters high, it is a prominent local landmark. There are remains of a steam mill attached to the east, although the top floor has been removed.
