Description
Number 1 Thoroughfare is a 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall and is constructed of red brick. It features a first-floor band and a slate hipped roof with wide eaves soffits. The entrance is flanked by two brick pilasters that extend the full height of the building, and there is a plinth at the base. The façade includes four sash windows with glazing bars, flush frames, and flat arches. The entrance door is a three-panel design set in a reeded solid frame, topped with an arched fanlight. The building has an altered chop front on the right side. Historical deeds from 1722 are associated with the property. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 6, Nos 8 to 10, and Nos 12 to 16 Thoroughfare.
