Description
Dernford Hall is a former manor house with a core dating back to the 16th century, which has been extended on the left side. The facade was likely given its early 19th-century casing when the house was divided into two separate residences. It is a single long range structure, featuring an older timber-framed core. The facade is made of random flint with white brick dressings, while the left gable end is constructed of red brick, and the rest of the building is cement-rendered. The roof is covered with plain tiles and the building is mainly two storeys high.
There are six windows arranged in a 3:3 pattern, with mid-20th-century large pane casements set under segmental arches. The house has two doorways: on the left side, there is a later 18th-century six-panel door, with the upper four panels glazed, along with panelled reveals, pilasters, and an entablature topped with a triangular pediment; on the right side, there is a 19th-century nine-panel door, with the upper three panels glazed. The building features a brick eaves dentil cornice and has an internal stack and a gable end stack on the left side. A datestone reading "WK1857" on the right gable end appears to be a modern addition. The interior of the house has been largely modernised.
