Description
Lady Whincups is a house with an early 19th-century facade and an 18th-century or earlier core. It features a brick structure with a stuccoed facade and a hipped slated roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a four-window range consisting of sashes with glazing bars in flush frames, one of which has louvred shutters. The doorway is asymmetrical and includes an inset six-panel door with panelled reveals. There is a narrow band above the first-floor windows. Notably, the poet George Crabbe lived here from 1801 to 1805, which is commemorated by a modern plaque on the facade.
