Description

The Gables is a house built in the early 19th century, featuring a double pile plan. It is constructed of red brick, which was formerly colourwashed, and has a pantiled roof with concrete tiles on the outer slopes and crest tiles along the ridge. The house is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-bay facade. The inset sash windows are fitted with glazing bars and have cambered arches above them. The doorway consists of a six-panel door, with the upper two panels being glazed. It also features a fluted frieze and a dentil cornice, along with an open timber porch supported by octagonal columns. Additionally, there is a decorative wooden fascia board beneath the eaves, complemented by matching bargeboards on the gable ends.
