Description
Vale Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, built in two or possibly three stages, with mid-20th century extensions to the north. The structure is timber framed and plastered, featuring modern concrete pantiles on the north side and clay pantiles on the south. It is two storeys high with an attic and consists of a single long range with five window openings. The north side includes two original mullion windows that are now glazed over, and there is a modern boarded door within the mid-20th century extension. The farmhouse has two internal stacks. Inside, there is notable exposed timbering, particularly on the first floor. The ground floor contains one blocked internal doorway with an arched head, and at the west end, there are two fireplaces that feature some reused stonework and moulded lintels. The original newel attic stairs are also present.
