Description
Brightmere is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with the central section possibly being older. An attached dairy wing on the right side likely dates from the 18th century. The building is timber framed, mostly covered in 19th century red brick, with a plastered facade on the dairy wing. The roof is tiled with plain tiles at the front and pantiles at the rear. It has two storeys, with the left wing featuring an attic. The centre section has three windows, while the left side has one window, primarily consisting of mid 20th century small pane casements with segmental arches. There is a 20th century boarded door and an open timber porch. The farmhouse has one internal stack and a smaller stack located between the main range and the dairy wing. Inside, there is exposed timbering and some good original doors.
