Description

No. 5 Market Place is an early 19th-century building that connects to No. 2 Trinity Street. It is three stories tall and faced with stucco. The façade features pilasters that rise from the first to the second floor, flanking a central window on the first floor that has a pedimented case with consoles. There are French windows on the first floor and a small central balcony with ornamental railings. The side windows on the first floor have eared architraves, and there is a moulded band at the second floor. The roof is covered with pantiles. The shop front slightly projects and includes flank pilasters and a central entrance. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 1 to 11 (odd), Nos. 11A, 13, and 17 to 21 (odd), along with the butter cross.
