Description
This is a row of three houses known as Tinker's Cottage, Old Post Office, and Ivy Cottage, dated 'John Clayton 1770' on a brick to the left side of the central doorway, suggesting a possibly older core. The houses are constructed of red brick with a roof featuring plain tiles at the front and pantiles at the rear, topped with crest tiles along the ridge. They are two storeys high with an attic and have a six-window range, primarily consisting of two-light small pane casements with flat brick arches and raised keys.
There are three doorways: Tinker's Cottage has a six-panel door with the upper four panels glazed; the Old Post Office features a half-glazed door; and Ivy Cottage has an inset six-panel bolection moulded door with panelled reveals. Additionally, there are three 19th-century gabled dormers that have diamond pane windows and ornamental barge boards.
