Description

The Post Office, located on the site of Portland House, is a modern building constructed in 1852. It incorporates elements from the 16th century, including plaster ceilings and a staircase from the previous house. The staircase features a newel post with the date 1534 carved into it, although this carving may not be original. Additionally, there is a wide fireplace with stop-moulded jambs and an obtuse-angled head, made of brick.
