Description
Old Rookery House is a country mansion with an early 17th century timber framed core and a later 18th century brick facade, featuring some plaster and tile hanging on a flat roof link. The building has plain tiled gable roofs and a plain-tiled, hipped cross wing. It is two storeys high with an attic, and the main elevation faces the garden. The lower wing on the left has a varied appearance, with 20th century casements and a 20th century timber flat-roofed patio/conservatory. The main part of the house has a three-window range, featuring three-light sashes with narrow sidelights in flush frames and glazing bars. The entrance doorway includes a porch in antis, supported by half-round Ionic, fluted pilasters, with remnants of an entablature and a 20th century glazed door. Various stacks are made of red brick.
