Description
The Old Rectory is a house that was formerly a rectory, dating from the late 18th century with an early 17th-century core. The rear of the building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a plain tiled roof. The main range is constructed of gault brick and features hipped slated roofs along with two gault brick stacks that have moulded caps. The building has two storeys and an attic.
At the front, there is a central bay that is slightly projected and features a pediment with a modillion cornice. The main façade is flanked by one-storey projecting wings, also with hipped slated roofs, and all eaves are adorned with a modillion cornice. The windows are arranged in a 2:3:2 pattern, consisting of sashes in flush frames with glazing bars. There is a bullseye window in the tympanum that has radial glazing bars. The doorway is framed by panelled pilasters and topped with a triangular pediment that includes modillions, leading to a six-fielded panelled door. Inside, the 17th-century timber frame is covered with plaster.
