Description
Two cottages, originally one small farmhouse, date from the 16th or 17th century. They are timber framed with a colourwashed render and a thatched roof, standing two storeys high. The entrance front features a projecting 19th-century gabled wing with brick walling on the left side. Beneath the porch on the right is a plank door, accompanied by a 2-light casement window. Above this, on the first floor, is a 3-light 19th-century casement window. To the right of the gable end, there is a brick lean-to outshut with a 2-light 19th-century window. On the left side, there is a 2-light window on the ground floor and a 3-light casement window above. The projecting wing has a porch at the re-entrant angle and a 3-light window to the right. At the rear, there are two 2-light casements on the ground floor and one 2-light window. Inside, the ground floor features chamfered ceiling beams and close-studded walling. A 19th-century winder staircase leads to the first floor, which also has close studding and a blocked 3-light window with diamond section mullions.
