Description

The Malt House is a house dating from the late 16th century, with 20th-century additions at the rear. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a two-window range that includes 18th-century three-light mullion and transom casements. There is a central doorway with a six-panel door, where the upper four panels are glazed, and it is sheltered by an open timber trellis porch. At the rear, there are gabled staircase wings from the same period. The first floor and the staircase wing showcase good exposed timbering, and there is an original dogleg staircase leading to the attic, which has a well-preserved original door.
