Description
Chim Chimineys is a fine 16th-century timber-framed and plastered building with a tiled roof, located on The Street in Brent Eleigh. The building has been restored, with all the timber-framing exposed and red brick nogging visible. It features cross wings at the north-west and south-east ends, along with additional wings at the rear. The structure is two storeys high, and the upper storey jetties out on the north-east front, supported by exposed joists. The central section is at a higher level than the cross wings. The façade includes a five-window range, primarily consisting of three and four-light mullioned and transomed casements with leaded lights, some of which are old. The doorway features a four-centred arched head. There are several chimney stacks, each with two, three, and four octagonal shafts topped with rebuilt star caps.
