Description
Vine Cottage is a 17th-century timber-framed house with later alterations. It is located on Court Street, Nayland, with Wissington. Originally listed under Church Street, it stands adjacent to The Vine House. The south end of the house retains exposed timber framing, while the facade was refronted in the 18th or early 19th century. The ground storey has been built out with painted brick, and the house has two storeys. It features a two-window range of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. The front door is a 6-panel design with glazed upper panels, set within a moulded architrave. A small 19th-century shop front is present on the north side, characterized by pilasters, a cornice, and windows with widely-spaced glazing bars. The roof is tiled, using old tiles.
