Description
The Kings Head Inn is a public house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure, with some painted brick, and has red plain tiled roofs. The building is designed as a hall house with an original right cross-wing and a 18th-century left cross-wing, along with a 20th-century extension on the right. The right gable jetties out to the first floor. The inn is one storey and has attics in the hall and left range, while the right range is two storeys high. There are two red brick chimneystacks on the left return of the left range and one right forward of the ridge on the hall. The front has a window arrangement of 1:1:1, with gabled dormers on the right return of the left range and to the left of the hall. Most windows are small paned vertically sliding sashes, with an angled bay located below the right jetty. A lean-to porch to the right of the hall has a grey slate roof and a vertically boarded door. Additionally, there is a 20th-century single storey extension with a hipped roof to the right, featuring three windows and a recessed porch.
