Description

Rose Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th century, with later alterations and additions. It features a timber frame and is plastered, topped with a thatched roof. The building has left external and off-centre right chimneystacks, and it is one storey high with attics. There is a gabled dormer and three 20th-century windows, including two bays. A 20th-century lean-to porch leads to a plank and muntin door. Inside, part of the heavy timber frame is visible, with tension braces at the wall angles and arch braced tie-beams near the chimney. The ceiling has flat section beams, and there is a back-to-back inglenook fireplace. The rear door is vertically boarded and features a drop over strap hinges.
