Description

New Mill Cottage, formerly known as Polstead Mill, is a 18th-century building that has been converted into a private home. Originally timber-framed and plastered, it is now encased in red brick with a tiled mansard roof. The south-west gable features weatherboarding and retains the loft hoist. Two wings extend from the main block to the north-west. The cottage is two storeys high with attics and has a three-window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in flush cased frames. There are three flat-headed dormers on the front and a six-panel door. A raised brick band runs across the front between the storeys.
