Description
The White Hart Hotel, located on the west side of High Street in Nayland with Wissington, is a 18th-century building featuring a stuccoed front that conceals an earlier timber-framed structure. It stands two storeys tall and has a four-window range with double-hung sashes that include glazing bars. The entrance boasts a six-panel door topped by a rectangular fanlight with radial glazing bars, complemented by panelled reveals, plain pilasters, and a cornice hood. At the north end of the building, there is a carriageway that reveals exposed timber-framing. The roof is tiled. Inside, a room on the first storey showcases two 18th-century wall paintings, one depicting a lady in a landscape and the other featuring the figure of Neptune.
