Description

Nos 2 and 4 Stoke Road is a 16th to 17th century timber-framed and plastered house. Number 4 was renovated in the 20th century, revealing the timber framing on the upper storey. In 1975, an addition was constructed on the north-east end of Number 4. Originally, the upper storey jutted out (jettied) but was later underbuilt in brick during the 18th or 19th century. The building has two storeys, with the original part featuring casement windows with leaded lights. Number 2 has double-hung sash windows with glazing bars on the south-west end and on the ground floor at the front. The roofs are covered with fishscale tiles.
