Description
Montgomery House is a large red brick building from the late 19th century, designed in the "Elizabethan" style to complement the nearby Trinity Hospital to the east. A date panel on the south gable indicates it was built in 1878. The building features four gables of varying sizes and is divided at the front by octagonal piers topped with stone domed caps and finials. It has two and three storeys, with most windows being double-hung sashes without glazing bars, although some modern casements are present. Several windows have square label moulds. The east front includes two canted bays with embattled parapets and a long gabled porch that projects from the front. The roofs are tiled, and there are multiple shafted chimney stacks along with an embattled tower on the west side. The north, south, and west fronts share a similar design.
