Description
Rogers Farmhouse is a timber-framed and plastered house dating from around 1600. It has two storeys, with the south front featuring a jettied upper storey supported by curved brackets. The façade includes a three-window range with three-light double-hung sashes that have glazing bars. At the rear, there is a long single-storey wing of outbuildings extending to the north. The roofs are tiled, and the building has the bases of four grouped octagonal shafts on a square base, with rebuilt square shafts above. There are external chimney stacks at both the east and west ends, one of which has a single octagonal shaft. Inside, the farmhouse contains notable 17th-century wall paintings dated 1623, which depict the life of Samson and the Martyrdom of St Stephen, featuring figures in 17th-century costume.
