Description

Nos 7 and 9 on Friars Street are buildings dating from 1692, likely with origins in the 17th century but significantly altered over time. The exterior features an 18th-century front with a parapet and a three-window range. The windows include sash windows with glazing bars, while No 9 has a flush-set metal casement replacing the original window. The ground floor consists of early 19th-century shops with wooden cases and pilasters, and No 7 has a dentil cornice. The buildings are two stories tall, timber-framed, and plastered, with tiled roofs. These properties are included for their group value, as they form a cohesive group with Nos 7 to 17 (odd).
