Description

The Tapers and Bumble Cottage are a timber-framed and plastered building dating from the 16th to 17th centuries, with a tiled roof. The building is two stories high. The upper storey juts out at the north end, supported by exposed joists. It has two casement windows with glazing bars. A tall ridge chimney stack is located at the north end. Doorways are accessed by steps rising from the pavement. The building was renovated at some point. It forms part of a continuous range of buildings numbered 1 to 6 on the west side of The Street. The building is listed for its group value and its contribution to the street scene.
