Description
The Bell Inn is a 15th and 16th century timber-framed and plastered building that has been significantly restored and modernised. It features a tiled roof and stands two storeys high. The north block includes a cross wing at the south end, which has a jettied upper storey, while the south block also has a jettied upper storey supported by exposed joists. The timber-framing is visible on the front, with some of the timbering renewed, and there is additional exposed framing at the rear. The south block showcases a carved bressumer, and the north block retains an original doorway with a four-centred arch, carved spandrels, and two small lights on the north side. The front façade has a range of five modern casement windows with leaded lights designed in an "old style." The ground storey features two bays with moulded brick sills, and there are two tall external chimney stacks located at the rear.
