Description

The Old Forge is a timber-framed and plastered building of mediaeval origin, located on the west side of Church Street, Boxford. It features a cross wing at its south end. The main hall block is a single storey with attics, while the cross wing is two storeys high. The building has casement windows. On the ground floor, two old windows retain their leaded upper lights, and a six-panel door is framed by a moulded wood architrave and cornice. A former smithy is located at the north end, with double doors providing access. The roof is tiled and includes two small dormers facing the front.
