Description

The Badley's is a 16th to 17th century timber-framed and plastered house located on Folly Road in Great Waldingfield. It features a cross wing at the north-west end. The front of the main block was altered in the 18th to 19th centuries. The building has two storeys and attics, with the upper storey jettied on the south-east end of the main block, supported by curved brackets and exposed joists. The front windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars in the upper storey, while the cross wing has a two-storey bay with casements that have leaded lights. The roofs are tiled and adorned with ornamental shaped bargeboards at the gables of both the main block and the cross wing. The cross wing features an original chimney stack with four grouped octagonal stacks with spur caps on a square base, and the main block has a single octagonal shaft with a spur cap.
