Description

The Old Rectory is an 18th-century brick house, substantially rebuilt in the early to mid-19th century, with later alterations and additions. It is two storeys high. Most of the windows are double-hung sashes, some with glazing bars. The north-east front features two gables, one projecting and containing a semi-circular arched doorway. The north-west front also has two gables. A large brick bay window projects from the south-east front. An ornamental brick band runs at first-storey window sill level on the north-east block. The roofs are tiled. The interior includes a room with 18th-century panelling, and a carved screen, said to have been taken from a city church, which features carvings of angel heads and fluted Corinthian columns.
