Description

High Trees is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house located on the south side of The Street in Great Waldingfield. It features a cross wing at the southeast end, where the gable is jettied on a bressummer that is intricately carved with a vine pattern, along with the date 1670 and the initials D C. The house has two storeys and a three-window range, with double-hung sash windows, most of which have glazing bars. The ground and first storey windows of the cross wing are three-light. The main block has been refaced in brick and is colourwashed. The roof is tiled and includes a notable original chimney stack, which has three octagonal shafts topped with star caps and moulded bases on a rectangular base.
