Description
Lathcotes is a 17th century timber-framed and plastered house located on Beehive Lane in Great Baddow. It features a jettied cross wing at the east end and a weatherboarded base. The building was altered in the 18th century and later renovated in the 20th century. The cross wing is two storeys high, while the main block is one storey with attics. The windows are double-hung sashes; those on the first storey have glazing bars, and the ground storey includes a 19th century canted bay with single vertical glazing. The roof is tiled, hipped over the jettied cross wing and half hipped at the west end, with two gabled dormers. Inside, the house has exposed timber-framing.
