Description
New Found Out is a cottage, originally a pair of cottages, dating from the late 18th century and likely depicted on Chapman and Andre's plan of Essex from 1779. The building features some mid-19th century windows and is constructed with weatherboarding, a pantiled roof, and a red brick chimneystack. It is two storeys high with two windows; the first floor has 16-pane sash windows set in moulded architraves, while the ground floor has mid-19th century sashes with verticals only, framed by earlier moulded surrounds. There is a 20th-century half-glazed door. At the rear, there is an outshut, probably added in the early to mid-19th century, which has a ground floor of painted brick and is weatherboarded above, featuring two horizontally sliding sashes.
