Description

The Downs Almshouses are a range of 16th to 17th century timber-framed and plastered buildings located in Stoke-by-Nayland. The front features exposed studding and the structure has been significantly restored and modernized. The almshouses are single-storey with a four-window range, small casement windows, and four boarded doors. The roofs are tiled and there are two tall chimney stacks with octagonal shafts, which are connected by modern brickwork at the top and have moulded bases.
