Description
Nos 25 to 27 on Mere Street are two-storey buildings from the 18th century, with No 27 dating from the early 19th century. Each building has one window. No 25 features a rendered first floor with a flank pilaster on the left and flush frame sash windows with glazing bars. The roof is covered with lozenge slates, and there is a modern projecting shop front. No 26 has a front gable or pediment that is platter lined and colourwashed, with a modern metal casement window on the first floor. The eaves soffit is visible, and the roof is also slate-covered. The shop has a wooden case with glazing bars and pantiles, hipped at the front, with stucco painted mainly in red brick on the return. The first floor has flush frame sash windows that now only have centre glazing bars. This group of buildings, Nos 25 to 27, forms a cohesive unit with Nos 33 to 35.
