Description
No. 42 on Mere Street is an 18th-century, two-storey building featuring four windows. It has an ogee bracket eaves cornice and a machine tile roof with a central stack. The windows are mullion transom casements. The ground floor includes a shop on the left, which has a wooden case with pilasters and an entrance on a splayed corner, featuring a four-panel door with a patterned fanlight. To the right, there are two casement windows and a small additional door. The south side of the building has a window in the gable and another at the first floor, along with a ground floor shop window. Nos. 41 to 54, which are consecutive, form a group with this building.
