Description
Garden House, located approximately 20 meters south of Ashby Hall, is an early 18th century building that has been converted into a dwelling. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped pantile roof. The house stands three storeys tall, with a lower range to the west. The ground floor openings on the north side have been altered and include two and three light casements with elliptical arched heads. The building has rusticated brick quoins and a platband at the first floor level, along with a wooden eaves cornice.
At the top, the roof is topped by a 20th century square timber lantern that has semi-circular headed windows with glazing bars. There is a lead-covered ogee dome with a ball-finial and a scrolled weather vane. A chimney stack is located on the west side of the house. The lower pantiled range to the west has a shaped gable with blocked openings and features inserted double doors with a segmental head in the north wall. Additionally, there is a one-storey wing to the south, which is also pantiled and has a shaped gable.
