Description
This is an 18th-century building of three houses, numbered 7 to 9, situated on Denmark Street. The building has undergone alterations over time and originally comprised two storeys, with an additional storey added to the rear. It has a low-pitched pantile roof. Number 7 is constructed of red brick, while number 8 is stuccoed with lining, and number 9 is brick, painted. Number 7 features sash windows with glazing bars, and a single window on the first floor, with a blank panel positioned above the entrance. The entrance door is of six panels. Number 8 has a casement window above the entrance, a small window with a wooden frame on the ground floor, and a fielded six-panel door set within a wooden case. Number 9 has three casement windows on the ground floor and an entrance with segmental arches. The interior of number 8 retains exposed beam ceilings and a mix of six-panel and two-panel doors. Number 9 has been recently modernised and extended. The three houses form a picturesque group, particularly when viewed from across the Mere.
