Description
19 and 20 St Nicholas Street are 17th-century buildings that have been altered. They are two stories tall with attics and feature four gabled casement dormers. The roofs are covered with pantiles, and the exterior is finished in painted stucco with a parapet that has a moulded coping. The first floor has six flush frame windows at the center, with four modern metal casements, while the sash windows now only have central glazing bars. The early 19th-century shop fronts are somewhat recessed below an entablature and are supported by fluted cast-iron columns with foliate caps. The entrance to number 20 is on the left and features a stone case with Doric columns and a six-panel door with steps leading up. Numbers 17 to 23A form a group.
