Description
Bottom End Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century and late 17th century. It is timber framed with colourwashed infill from the early 17th century, along with brick gables and chimney bays from the late 17th century. The roof is covered with pantiles. The facade features two storeys and a dormer attic, arranged in three bays. There is a central 20th-century door located under a gabled porch, with a three-light UPVC window on either side. The first floor has three early 19th-century two-light iron casements. The roof is gabled and includes two gabled dormers with casements. The end bays are made of brick and sit on a brick plinth. A moulded platband and a blind oval window are present, which are also repeated on the rear. Moulded brick kneelers can be seen, and the gable ends feature a platband at the eaves line. Internal gable end stacks are present, and there are fragments of pargetting that survive under the eaves at the rear. Inside, the timber frame consists of heavy scantling and is closely studded, with a central winder staircase.
