Description
The Tumbledown Dick is a house dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, constructed of brick with a tile roof and an irregular plan. The facade features five irregular bays and is 1½ storeys high. The southern bay has a tripartite sash window with glazing bars, while there is a projecting wing that includes a 16-pane sash window on the ground floor. Additional features include a platband, a casement window in the attic, and kneelers supporting a shaped gable. There is a stack on the south wall of this wing and a plank door in the north wall. The adjoining bay has another 16-pane sash window. A 19th-century lean-to porch with a six-panel door, two of which are glazed, leads to a tripartite sash window. The northern bay contains a 12-pane sash window, and the building has kneelered parapet gables with two gabled attic casements. There is an off-centre axial stack and an inserted stack on the east slope of the roof.
