Description
No. 66 High Green is a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century, likely with an earlier core. The cottages feature a rendered timber frame with some brick and have a thatched roof. They have a 4-cell lobby entrance type plan and a regular facade with four bays, standing at one and a half storeys. The windows are 18th-century casements, with two plank doors, a three-light casement in the left-hand and central bays, and a two-light casement at the right-hand end. There are three eyebrow dormers, one of which has leaded panes. The building has a central axial stack and a stack at the left-hand gable end. The left-hand gable features a parapet and a brick gable return, with the gable wall made of 18th-century brick that includes some diapering. Inside, some timber framing is visible, with arch-braces to the wall plate, a staircase located behind the stack, and cambered tie beams.
