Description
Maltby House is an 18th-century house located on Loddon Beccles Road. It is built of red brick and features a steep hipped roof covered with black glazed pantiles. The house has a coved eaves cornice and a moulded brick string course at floor level. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has five windows, which are sashes with glazing bars in exposed casings. The ground floor's glazing bars are missing, and the windows are topped with rubbed flat brick arches.
The entrance is marked by a central moulded architrave doorcase that includes fielded panel reveals, an entablature with a fluted frieze and dentilled cornice, and a fielded panel door. There is also one central flat-roof dormer with a sash window that has glazing bars. At the rear, there is a two-storey gabled wing that has a corrugated asbestos roof.
