Description
The rear (west) building of Loddon Primary School is a former chapel, now serving as a youth centre, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a low-pitched pyramidal slated roof. The building is single-storey with a front (east) elevation that has a central double recessed round-headed doorway made of rubbed brick. This doorway includes a semi-circular fanlight with radial glazing bars and double doors with flush panels. On either side of the doorway are blind windows with flat rubbed brick arches, although the right-hand window has been covered over by a late 19th-century wing that connects to a later chapel. The north and south sides of the building each have two sash windows with glazing bars, flat heads, and rubbed brick arches. There is also a later lean-to structure at the rear (west) of the building.
